This policy explains how DocsGinie ("we", "us"), operated by Your Name or Business Name, handles information when you use docsginie.com. It is written to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Your files
All DocsGinie tools on this website process your files inside your own web browser. Your PDFs, images and photos are not uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see, store or share them. When you close or reload the page, the working copies in your browser memory are discarded.
If we add tools in future that need server processing, we will clearly label them, delete uploaded files automatically within one (1) hour, and update this policy before launch.
2. Information we collect
- Account (optional): if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a user ID from Google through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). We use this only to let you process larger tasks and, later, to provide account features.
- Activity logs: each time you use a tool, sign in or sign out, we record the date and time, your IP address, your browser and device type, the tool used, the number of pages and the total file size, and (if you are signed in) your account ID and email. We never record the contents or names of your files. See section 6 for how long we keep these logs.
- Usage data: our hosting and analytics providers may also collect technical data such as pages visited, to keep the site secure and understand which tools are used.
- Messages: if you email us, we keep your message to reply to you.
3. Cookies and advertising
We may show ads through Google AdSense and measure traffic with Google Analytics. These services use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites. 4. Why we use your data
To provide and secure the service, to keep you signed in, to respond to you, to comply with law and lawful requests by government agencies, and to improve DocsGinie. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the site (Google Firebase for sign-in, our India-based server (VPS) provider for hosting and activity logs, Cloudflare if used for network protection, Google AdSense / Analytics), or when required by law, for example on a lawful request from a government or law-enforcement agency under the IT Act.
6. Where your data is stored and for how long
- Activity logs are stored on our server located in India and kept for 180 days, as required by the CERT-In Directions of 28 April 2022 under Section 70B of the IT Act. They are then deleted automatically, and backup copies are removed on our regular backup cycle. Access is restricted to authorised personnel and they are disclosed only to government agencies on a lawful request, or to investigate misuse and security incidents.
- Account data (name, email, account ID) is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we keep registration information for 180 days afterwards, as required by Rule 3(1)(h) of the IT Rules, 2021, and then delete it.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Write to our Grievance Officer (details below). If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
DocsGinie is not directed at children under 18. Please do not sign in if you are under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
